Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • half cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 3 Tb oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • pint of nutmeg
  • pint of cinnamon powder
  • pint of salt
  • as required milk

Directions

1. Cream sugar, egg & oil together.
2. Sift cinnamon powder, nutmeg powder, salt, baking powder and flour together.
3. Now, mix the sifted ingrdients with the egg mixture and knead the dough with milk.
4. Turn on a slightly floured board, roll to one-third inch thickness, shape with a doughnut cutter and fry in deep oil heated to 350 degrees, until a bit of bread will brown in one minute.

Recipe Notes
The secret to make your donuts rise higher lies in the temperature of oil & the heat. Oil should be medium hot and the heat should be slow so that the donuts could rise properly.

Servings

10 - 12 medium size donuts.
